Description
pH is the measure of how acid/alkaline the pool water is. If pH is too low, the water can be corrosive to pool equipment. If pH is too high, then the chlorine becomes much less effective for sanitization.
Sodium carbonate (Na2CO3), more commonly known as Soda Ash, is an additive to raise the pH and alkalinity in swimming pools. Soda Ash has a high pH, somewhere between 11.3-11.7.
To raise your pool pH levels, try adding in sodium carbonate (AKA soda ash). When adding in the soda ash, start adding from the deep end of your pool and work your way up to the shallow end.
Soda ash always leaves a residue at the bottom of the container.
